What makes Steading Home recipes different?
All our recipes are authentic pre-1900 heritage recipes that have been verified by our Kitchen Oracle for historical accuracy. We don't modernize or alter these recipes—we present them as they were originally created, with historical context and notes to help modern cooks understand traditional techniques.
How do I know if a recipe is authentic?
Every recipe in our collection has been verified by our Kitchen Oracle system, which researches historical sources, cookbooks, and traditional foodways to confirm authenticity. Each recipe includes historical notes and sources when available.
Can I submit my family's heritage recipes?
Yes! We love collecting family recipes with historical significance. Please email us at henry@steadinghome.com with your recipe, any historical information you have, and your family's story. Our Kitchen Oracle will review it for authenticity and historical accuracy.
How do I create an account?
Click "Sign Up" in the top navigation, enter your email address and create a password. You'll receive a welcome email and can immediately start browsing recipes and making purchases.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure Stripe payment system. Your payment information is never stored on our servers.
How long does shipping take?
Orders typically ship within 1-2 business days. Standard shipping takes 5-7 business days, and express shipping takes 2-3 business days. You'll receive tracking information once your order ships.
What is your return policy?
